The Motzkin family founded Empire Recycling in the year 2000. Collectively they have been in the rubbish and recycling industry for three generations.  The family is committed to providing exceptional service to its recycling and waste disposal customers.

Over the past 10 years the Motzkins have built Empire into one of the largest recycling companies in the New England area, handling over 7,000 tons of recyclables per month.

Their large fleet of trucks hauls rubbish and recycling throughout the area. Empire offers full service to all of our valued customers.

Joseph Motzkin (1914-1984) Even though he passed away before the start of Empire Recycling LLC, he was the motivational force that started his son, Joseph E. Motzkin in the rubbish and recycling business. He instilled in him a great work ethic, the imnportance of customer service and the relationship with his employess.

Joseph E. Motzkin Now celebrating his 50th year in the industry, Joe has been involved in every aspect of the business, from truck driver to C.E.O. He started his career with his father in the family business and went on to manage some of the larger national companies including Laidlaw and W.S.I. Ten years ago he purchased Sterling Recycling, turning into Empire Recycling LLC, which is fast becoming one of the largest recycling companies in the area.

Joseph H. Motzkin Joe has been involved in the industry for over 15 years. He has a bachelor's degree from Boston University and a M.B.A. from Northeastern University. He managed Prins Recycling and is presently the president of Empire Recycling LLC. During his tenure, he has helped modernize and develop Empire.

Joseph L. Motzkin A fourth generation of Joseph Motzkins. He is already very environmentally-oriented and will carry on the Joseph Motzkin name in the business.

Sandra Motzkin One of the few women in the industry and part owner of Empire Recycling with over 40 years of experience.

Michael Motzkin With 10 years of experience in the recycling industry, Michael performs as a liaison with major accounts and munipalities for Empire Recycling. He also works as a political consultant.

Nicole Rhuda, Office Manager Nicole has been with the company for 5 years and is responsible for managing the office, customer service, inside sales, billing and Human Resources. She also assists in the day-to-day operations of Empire Recycling.

Lee Nogler, Operations Manager Lee brings over 20 years of experience to the company. With Empire Recycling for the last 10 years, Lee supervises over 30 employees, as well as dispatching and overseeing plant operations.
